Numeracy Part-Whole Cards use structured 5-frames and 10-frames to develop students’ understanding of part-whole relationships. Rather than relying on counting by ones or memorizing isolated facts, students learn to compose and decompose numbers, identify missing parts, and recognize relationships between quantities.
The cards are designed for flexible use during whole-group instruction, small groups, math centers, or intervention. Teachers can use them to encourage mathematical reasoning and conversation with prompts such as “What do you see?”, “I wish I had ___,” and “I need ___ more.”
